Science Practical Courses
Mid-week Science Practical courses
Saturday Science practical course application form
Pascals College offers courses focussing specifically on the practical aspects of the sciences (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) to train students in all aspects of designing, setting up and conducting of practical experiments, as well as the recording and presentation of data gathered in the experiment.
Ideal for those who have had little experience in the laboratory or who are studying at home or with a distance learning organisation, these courses will give the student the necessary knowledge and experience to conduct scientific experiments such as those required in A-level and GCSE sciences.
The course covers usage of laboratory equipment, safety procedures, experiment design and planning, and analysis of data. For those taking A-level sciences with AQA, there is also the option to undertake the Practical Skills Assessment (PSA)/Practical Skills Verification (PSV) during the course.
At the end of the course the student will be provided with a report on their performance along with a predicted grade.
Practical courses are taught on Saturdays between 28th January and 10th March 2012. Booking for places starts in December up until the course start date. A maximum of ten students are accepted for each science.
